Basic Organization
Team Ariana is organized into fire teams composed of 2 buddy teams each. Buddy team numbers correspond to their position in file formation (ex: Blue 1-1; Blue 1-2; Blue 2-1; Blue 2-2). Ideally, fire teams operate as a unit; they are not split up during games. If there is a need to split fire teams, buddies always remain together.
Each fire team is composed of:
1. Scout
2. Team leader
3. Designated marksman
4. Machine gunner/rear guard
Responsibilities
The scout is responsible for reconnaissance and minimizing the possibility of unplanned contact with opposing teams. Hence, the scout is responsible for forward security and for the forward cone of fire.
The team leader is responsible for coordinating the efforts of the fire team and for adjusting the fire team's operational plan in view of changing operational conditions including contact with the opposition. The team leader is also responsible for the left cone of fire.
The designated marksman is responsible for laying down accurate suppressive fire, as well as precision shooting. The designated marksman is usually armed with a rifle with magnified optics. The designated marksman is responsible for the right cone of fire as well as the operation of the fire team's claymore mines.
The machine gunner is tasked with providing the team suppressive fire, and is responsible for rearward security. The machine gunner is therefore responsible for the rearward cone of fire.
